Master Arts Program

The Master Arts program is a unique and polyvalent formation in the PACA region and southeastern France, offering a set of skills to achieve the objective of professional integration or orientation towards research for students coming from a License degree, as well as for professionals seeking complementary training.

Objectives

The Master Arts program aims to provide students with the necessary skills to develop a personal project, within a framework open to the socio-professional world and a policy of internships during the course (practice internships, integration internships, and observation internships).

Public Targeted

The program is designed for students with a License degree, both in initial and continuing education (VAE and VAP).

Admission Criteria

Admission to the Master 1 program (after a License degree or BAC +3) is based on a file review. Interest in the Arts is a determining factor in the decision made by the commission, following an interview with the candidate and examination of the file.

Structure and Organization

The Master Arts program is structured into 4 courses, broken down into axes according to the courses.

  1. Arts and Scene of Today course
    • Theory and practice of performing arts axis
    • Numerical scenes and augmented actor axis (refer to the recruitment conditions of the Cannes Regional Actors School)
    • Scenic writing in public space axis (refer to the recruitment conditions of the Advanced Training in Public Space Art)
  2. Cultural Mediation of the Arts course
    • Cultural mediation of the arts axis (in-person)
    • Cultural mediation of the arts axis (Franco-German program, bi-national diploma Hildesheim-Aix-Marseille University)
    • Cultural mediation of the arts axis (distance learning)
  3. Plastic Arts course
  4. Digital Creation course

The Master Arts: Digital Creation course is designed according to a tripartition between artistic creation, research, and professionalization in digital artistic and cultural practices. The student's project, the central point of the training, is nourished by these three axes.

Teaching Sites

The program is taught at the ALLSH, Marseille St-Charles, Turbulence building.

Aid to Success

The training offers adaptation modules at the beginning of the first year.

During the first year, students follow methodology research modules and/or remedial workshops.

Finally, a tutorship is proposed for first-year students, carried out by second-year students.

Aid to Orientation

The recruitment by file and the interview with the candidate at the entrance to the first year can be considered as an orientation sequence, ensured by the members of the pedagogical team, which makes it possible to measure the candidate's motivations and abilities to follow the training.

Aid to Pursuit of Studies and Professional Integration

Individual interview with the training managers and the pedagogical team.

Studies Abroad

Attached to the training and to the LESA EA 3274, international agreements are in place with: the Pavillon Bosio in Monaco, the universities of Quebec, Dallas, Valencia, Naples, Alexandria, Sao Paulo (USP), Rio de Janeiro/UNIRIO, Porto Alegre (UFRGS), Florianopolis, Brasilia, and the Lebanese University.

Student mobility occurs throughout the training in Arts. It is subject to a study contract (learning agreement) constructed on the dialogue between the student and the international referent for each course, in consultation with the international relations service of Aix-Marseille University.

Within the Master Arts program, in addition to the description above, the Cultural Mediation of the Arts course proposes, under conditions (language level, in particular), a bi-national Franco-German master's degree within the Franco-German University in partnership with the University of Hildesheim (the student enrolled in this program is financially supported by the UFA).

The Plastic Arts course proposes a double master's degree between the Royal Academy of Fine Arts - Higher School of Art in Brussels (ARBA-ESA) and Aix-Marseille University.

Student mobility and internships abroad can be financially supported under conditions.
