Environmental Fieldwork Extension Unit (ENV309)

Introduction

In this unit, students will critically examine the political, social, cultural, and ecological influences of a particular place for the purposes of outdoor education and/or nature tourism interpretation. Students will combine this with planning and undertaking an extended expedition in a remote setting that extends their journey skills, leadership, decision-making, and ability to learn in, with, and from outdoor environments. Additionally, students will synthesise their lived experience with social and environmental ethics to advocate for a place and/or social group.
