Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:


  • Evaluate the importance of key EBLF communicative competences
  • Analyze strategies that promote development of specific EBLF competences
  • Coach others by applying these competences
  • Conduct peer review and evaluate overall performance and views

The course contents include:


  • Supporting literature
  • Video and audio recordings
  • PowerPoint slides
  • Exploration of main theories that underpin EBLF
  • Discussion of key accommodation strategies
  • Development of important rapport competences
  • Analysis of sub-genres of organizational text
  • Identification of business-specific workplace language
  • Evaluation of two types of knowledge necessary to work in a EBLF global organization

  • Course delivery is both contact (on campus) and independent online work using Zoom
  • Course participants: maximum 24

  • Students should have a device equipped with a microphone and a camera and be prepared to have the camera on during lectures
