UniOulu International Traineeship

The UniOulu International Traineeship is a program offered by the University of Oulu, providing financial support to students undertaking internships abroad. The program aims to enhance the internationalization of students' studies and provide them with valuable work experience.

Eligible Internships

The program supports internships that meet the following criteria:

• Internships in countries outside of Europe with a minimum duration of 60 days
• Short-term internships in Europe or outside Europe with a duration of 26-59 days
• Long-term internships in Europe that are not eligible for Erasmus+ funding, with a minimum duration of 60 days

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship amount varies depending on the duration and location of the internship:

• 2000 for long-term internships outside of Europe
• 1200 for short-term internships
• For long-term internships in Europe that are not eligible for Erasmus+ funding, the scholarship amount is determined according to the Erasmus+ program's rules and rates, with a maximum of 2000

Application Requirements

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:

• Be enrolled in a degree program at the University of Oulu
• Have a signed internship agreement (UniOulu International Traineeship Agreement) that outlines the internship's content, duration, and credits
• Ensure the internship is part of their studies and approved by their faculty
• Work full-time (at least 30 hours per week) during the internship
• Earn the required number of credits for the internship: at least 3 credits for short internships and 5 credits for long internships
• Be present in Oulu during the internship and have a permanent address in Finland
• Not have received any other internship support from the University of Oulu previously
• Not receive salary from the University of Oulu during the internship
• Not receive any other financial support for the internship from external sources

Application Process

1. Prepare the Internship Agreement: Complete the UniOulu International Traineeship Agreement, which requires signatures from the student, the supervisor, the faculty's internship coordinator, and the employer.
2. Submit the Application: Apply through the SoleMOVE mobility database by filling out the UniOulu International Traineeship application. Ensure to follow the SoleMOVE instructions carefully and attach the completed internship agreement to the application.
3. Apply for the Scholarship: After the application is approved, students will receive instructions on how to apply for the scholarship through the SoleGRANT scholarship database.

Reporting and Finalizing the Process

After completing the internship, students must submit a report and finalize the process, which is also a condition for receiving the scholarship payment.
