The Effective Preaching: Homily Preparation program is designed to help participants craft engaging homilies and cultivate the study, prayer, and pastoral practices that support them in their role as preachers. The program aims to deepen participants' appreciation of the sacramentality of the Word, their mediating role as preachers, and the communal functions of preaching.

Program Details
The program is based on the Boston College resource Touchstones for Preaching and is designed for ordained and lay preachers. All materials are included on the course site, and participants can expect to spend an average of 3 hours each week on preparation and online interaction.
Content Scholars
The program is led by two content scholars:
- Rev. Msgr. James A. Mongelluzzo, S.T.D., a priest of the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts, and faculty member at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary
- Rev. William T. Kelly, S.T.D., a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston
Program Structure
The program consists of four weeks of online instruction, with a fee of $30. The program is designed to support participants in their role as preachers and to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to craft engaging homilies.
