Program Overview
The 2025 academic year "Overseas Medical Observation Training" program is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan from March 8 to 17, 2026. This program is part of the "Support for Creating Social Impact through University Internationalization" project and will be conducted as a multicultural collaborative learning activity with students from Kazakhstan.
Program Objectives
The program aims to deepen understanding of local languages, cultures, social systems, and medical systems, and to cultivate the ability to grasp the challenges faced by medical systems in Japan and around the world from a comprehensive perspective. The program also aims to contribute to the formation of future careers.
Program Schedule
- Pre-training: December 18, 2025 (Thursday), 18:15-19:45, at the University's Humanities and Social Sciences Building A316
- Kazakh language training: January 8, 2026 (Thursday), 13:00-15:00
- Pre-departure training (schedule to be determined)
- Overseas crisis management seminar (hosted by the University's Student Support Center): January 28, 2026 (Wednesday), 11:30-13:30, online (Microsoft Teams)
Program Details
- Training Period: March 8-17, 2026 (return date may be subject to change)
- Destination: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, and other medical facilities and pharmacies in the suburbs
- Training Content: Facility tours, lectures by experts, discussions and presentations with local students on various domestic and international challenges
- Target Participants: Students from the University's School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Medical Sciences
- Number of Participants: 8 students (with support from the "Habatake! Tsukuba" program)
- Cost: Approximately 280,000 yen (including airfare, local transportation, food, and accommodation; subject to change due to exchange rates)
- Support: Up to 130,000 yen in support for students selected for the "Habatake! Tsukuba" program
- Credits: 1 credit for the "HB21151 Overseas Project Overview (Russian-speaking countries)" course for students from the School of Medicine and School of Nursing, and 1 credit for the "HE41170 International Life Science Training" course for students from the School of Medical Sciences
Application Method
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form, filling in the required information, and emailing it to the University's School of Medicine administration office.
