Introduction to the University Program
The University of Bremen offers a comprehensive program in the field of energy systems, providing students with a detailed understanding of technical, economic, and ecologic analysis.

Course Description
The course focuses on assessing energy systems, covering topics such as:
- Systems and economic tools for energy systems
- Climate change and climate modeling
- Resources for fossil fuels
- Stationary combustion systems
- Carbon sequestration
- Nuclear Energy Systems
- Assessment of solar resources
- Solar photovoltaic technologies
- Active and passive solar thermal
- Wind turbines
- Energy from biological sources
- Transport energy technologies
- System perspective in traffic engineering

Admission Criteria
Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have:
- A first degree from a university with at least 180 CP in a relevant field (e.g., production engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering with a focus on production technology)
- At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field
- Proof of German language skills (C1 level)
Recommended Prerequisites
- Fundamentals of thermodynamics
- Basics of combustion
- Constructive design and problem-solving
- Basics of MATLAB, calculus, and linear algebra
Tuition Fees
The participation fee is 225 Euro (75 Euro per CP). Members of the University of Bremen's alumni association receive a 5% discount.
Assessment and Completion
- The examination format will be announced at the beginning of the module.
- The course concludes with a certificate of completion.
Program Structure
The program is part of the university's continuing education offerings, specifically designed for engineers and professionals in the field of energy systems. The course is led by Prof. Fabio La Mantia and takes place on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 am during the summer semester.
