Program Overview

The program "21世紀的中国―現代中国的多相―" (Contemporary China: Multiple Aspects) is a 1.0-unit course offered to students from 1st to 5th year, taught by Professor Akiki Mouri. The course aims to explore the current state of China from a Japanese perspective, covering various aspects such as culture, society, economy, environment, and Sino-Japanese relations.


Course Description

The course will be taught in Chinese, with some Japanese used in lectures and discussions. The program will feature a series of lectures by experts in their fields, including:


  • Evolution of Sino-Japanese economic relations
  • Economic perspectives on Japan and China
  • Study abroad in China
  • Connection between Japanese and Chinese languages
  • Oil business and the world from a Chinese perspective
  • China's economic development from the steel industry perspective
  • China's power situation
  • Bank financing for Chinese companies from a foreign bank's perspective
  • Translation and interpretation in Chinese

  • Understanding the image of China from a Japanese perspective

Course Format

The course will be taught online, with some on-site classes possible due to copyright restrictions. The lectures will be conducted in a omnibus style, with different instructors for each topic.
