The Summer School ISOLDE: Infant Studies On Language Development in Europe is a unique program focused on the study of language development in infants. The program features a variety of courses and activities designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

Digital ISOLDE2021
The ISOLDE21 Summer School Online Edition utilizes online platforms for its courses and activities. The courses and yoga breaks are held in Zoom, while other activities, such as poster sessions and social activities, are held in Discord.
Zoom
Participants receive the meeting link and password by email before the summer school. It is recommended to register for a free Zoom account and install the Zoom Client for Meetings to ensure full functionality.
General Instructions & Recommended Settings for Zoom
- Ensure your full name is shown.
- Turn off your microphone when entering to minimize distracting noises.
- Switch on your camera to provide visual feedback to the presenter.
- Refrain from recording the meeting or taking screenshots of participants.
Tips & Tricks for Zoom during the presentation
- Set the view to Speaker View.
- Pin the video of the presenter.
- Adjust the size of the presentation window.
- Switch on the Side by Side Mode.
- Raise your hand or send a message through the chat function to ask a question.
Discord
Detailed instructions and a tutorial video about the Discord platform are sent to participants by email. The server is opened in June, and participants receive an invitation link to enter the Discord space.
Poster sessions
Separate channels are opened for poster sessions, each with a voice channel for live presentation and a text channel for commenting and communicating.
Social activities & networking
Social activities include online games via Discord, designed to facilitate networking among participants. Hangout rooms are available for smaller group discussions during breaks or after workshops.
