School of Social Work

The School of Social Work offers various programs, including the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), and Doctoral Program in Social Work (PhD).

Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

• The BSW program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in social work.

Master of Social Work (MSW)

• The program is limited, selective, and competitive, and meeting the minimum criteria for admission does not guarantee acceptance.
• The MSW program has two routes: course route and thesis route.
• Prospective students must complete an online application to the School of Graduate Studies, which includes a statement of interest, resume, and letters of appraisal.

Doctoral Program in Social Work (PhD)

• The PhD program is designed for individuals who have completed a master's degree in social work or a related field.
• The program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and research skills in social work.
• Prospective students must complete an online application to the School of Graduate Studies, which includes a statement of interest, resume, and letters of appraisal.

Admission Requirements

• To be considered for admission to the MSW program, applicants must hold a BSW degree or an equivalent professional undergraduate degree in social work, with at least second-class standing, and an average of at least 70% in the last 60 undergraduate credit hours.
• Applicants must also have completed at least two years of employment in professional social work practice or a comparable human service discipline or activity.
• The admission process is competitive, and meeting the minimum criteria for admission does not guarantee acceptance.

Application Process

• Prospective students must complete an online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
• The application must include a statement of interest, resume, and letters of appraisal.
• The statement of interest should indicate the applicant's reasons for wanting to enter the School of Graduate Studies, their research interests and objectives, and their practice focus interest or proposed topic for research.
• The resume should include work experience, educational background, field internships, research projects, professional development, volunteer experience, certifications, awards, affiliations, publications, and other relevant information.
• Letters of appraisal must be provided by two referees, one assessing the applicant's previous academic performance and one assessing their professional social work practice performance.
