نظرة عامة على البرنامج
Introduction to the Cycle Pluri-disciplinaire d'Etudes Supérieures (CPES)
The Cycle Pluri-disciplinaire d'Etudes Supérieures (CPES) is a higher education program that offers an alternative to traditional preparatory courses for studies up to the master's (bac+5) or doctoral (bac+8) level, with the goal of joining public or private research.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the CPES program, candidates must demonstrate a strong capacity for work, a good level of academic achievement, and an interest in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science.
- For French baccalaureate holders, it is strongly recommended to have a specialization in mathematics until the terminal level, as well as a specialization corresponding to the chosen CPES pathway (SES or HGGSP for the economics pathway, PC for the physics-chemistry pathway, SVT for the life sciences pathway).
- In case of abandonment of mathematics at the end of the first year, having obtained very good grades in complementary mathematics is highly recommended.
- Having followed the NSI specialization is not necessary for success in CPES, nor is it a selection criterion.
Application Process
Applications for the first year of CPES are made through Parcoursup. The formation is national, and there is no limitation on the percentage of classified applications from another academy than the Montpellier academy.
- International candidates can also submit an application directly through Parcoursup for this formation.
- The formation is very sensitive to equal opportunities and pays particular attention to scholarship holders.
Recommendations for Candidates
For the 2024 academic year, it is essential to apply specifically for the desired pathway: economics (12 places), physics-chemistry (12 places), or life sciences (12 places). If a candidate wishes to apply for multiple pathways, they must submit separate applications.
Program Details
The CPES program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in their chosen field, with the opportunity to pursue research in public or private institutions.
- The program is highly competitive, with a limited number of places available each year.
- Candidates are invited to demonstrate their interest in the formation and ensure that their study project is consistent with the CPES.
Research Areas
The CPES program offers research opportunities in various fields, including:
- Economics
- Physics-chemistry
- Life sciences
Additional Information
A web seminar will be held on January 29, 2026, at 5:30 PM to provide information about the CPES program.
