Introduction to the Master 2 Parcours Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry (ASC) Program

The Master ASC program is embedded in a network of five European universities, providing students with an intercultural experience. The participating universities include the Jagiellonian University of Cracow (Poland), Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna (Italy), University of Lille (France), University of Leipzig (Germany), and University of Helsinki (Finland). The program is designed to be completed within two universities, offering students a unique opportunity to study in a multicultural environment.

Program Structure

• The first year of the program begins with the first semester at the University of Lille for all students.
• In the second semester, students have the option to move to the University of Leipzig or the University of Bologna, or they can choose to remain at the University of Lille.
• In the second year, students can select any of the five consortium universities to complete their studies.

Program Objectives and Unique Features

The Master ASC program aims to prepare students to become experts in their field and develop international skills, paving the way for doctoral studies and/or industrial careers in chemical analysis and material characterization. A distinctive feature of this program is the freedom it offers students in choosing their research thesis topic within a highly specialized domain, aligned with their professional objectives. The high level of equipment available within the consortium is unparalleled, and the program has achieved a high level of harmonization, with a unique program scheme applicable to each partner institution, facilitating better integration into the European system.

Additional Program Highlights

• An annual winter school is organized, lasting one week, and takes place in one of the partner universities. This event brings together all first and second-year students, as well as consortium members.
• Graduates of the ASC program are at least bilingual, having studied and worked in a multicultural environment for two years, making them perfectly prepared for European or international careers.

Funding and Scholarships

The budget allocated for this master's program is 3,025,000 euros, which translates to 60 study grants. This significant funding underscores the program's commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic and professional goals.
