Overview:

Sokoto State University (SSU) is a state-owned conventional degree-awarding institution located in Sokoto, Nigeria. Established in May 2009, it commenced academic activities in October 2013. SSU is dedicated to providing quality teaching, learning, research, and community service.

Academic Programs:

SSU offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various disciplines. The university has three faculties: Social Sciences, Science, and Education.

Other:

• SSU has been given approval to commence postgraduate programs.
• The university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cape Coast Technical University Ghana for academic advancement.
• SSU has secured full NUC accreditation for all its courses.
• The university offers part-time degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
• SSU has two journals: Caliphate Journal of Science and Technology (CAJOST) and Sokoto Journal of Language, Literature and Linguistics (SJOLLL).
• SSU also has a journal called Rima International Journal of Education (RIJE).
• SSU currently has 41 undergraduate programs and 25 postgraduate programs.
