Introduction to the UNCG Summer Music Camp
The UNCG Summer Music Camp is a renowned program that offers exceptional musical experiences at an affordable cost. With a staff of over 170 dedicated musicians and educators, the camp provides top-quality instruction and inspiration to its attendees.
Camp Life
The camp is designed to create a safe and supportive environment for all campers. Overnight campers stay in air-conditioned UNCG residence halls and enjoy meals in the University Dining Hall. The camp staff ensures attentive supervision throughout the week, with more than 80 counselors living in the residence halls.
Housing and Meals

- Minor injuries are reported to parents immediately, with parents contacted and kept informed throughout any medical situation.
Supervision and Safety
The camp emphasizes safety and expectations from the start, with a detailed orientation covering camp rules, campus boundaries, safety procedures, and how to get assistance.

Camp Policy on Bullying

Anti-Bullying Measures
- The Camp Handbook clearly states that a camper may be expelled without refund for any behavior that endangers or detracts from the camp experience of others.

Free Time and Recreation

- The Elliott University Center is home to the campus bookstore, convenience store, coffee shop, and snack options, with extra counselors present to assist and maintain a positive environment.
Equipment
Band and orchestra students must bring their own instruments and a folding metal music stand. A limited number of larger instruments will be available through the UNCG School of Music.

Cell Phone Policy
While cell phones are no longer forbidden, strict rules apply to their use during the camp.

- Campers with cell phones must turn them off and leave them in their dorm rooms during the Sunday evening orientation.
