Program Overview

The Automasjon, ingeniřr - bachelor program is a three-year study that focuses on the development of systems for data collection, monitoring, and control of physical processes and systems. The program covers key areas such as measurement technology, microcontrollers and electronics, data communication and programming, mathematical modeling of physical systems, automatic control of physical systems, process technology, and data storage.

Admission Requirements

  • Mathematics (R1+R2) and Physics 1 (HING)
  • Alternatively, applicants can qualify through:
    • General study competence and a passed real course
    • A passed 1-year preliminary course for engineering education
    • 2-year technical college after the framework plan established by the department in 1998/99 and earlier study arrangements

Y-vei Admission Requirements

For the Y-vei program, applicants must have:


  • A recognized trade or journeyman's certificate from relevant vocational training programs
  • At least 2 years of apprenticeship in a company
  • Sufficient practice after passing the trade test (minimum 12 months)

Further Studies

The program qualifies graduates for further studies, including:


  • 2-year extension to Sivilingeniřr in Elektroteknikk at UiT in Narvik
  • 1-year extension in Datateknikk for engineers at UiT in Narvik
  • Master's studies in related fields at UiT or other universities
