Japan Africa Dream Scholarship Program (JADS)

The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) is a capacity building program by the African Development Bank and the Government of Japan. The program offers high-achieving African students a two-year scholarship opportunity to pursue post-graduate studies at master's level in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, and engineering. The scholarship is open to applicants from regional member countries of the African Development Bank, with relevant educational and professional experience and a track record of supporting their countries' development efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

• Read information posted on the JADS program carefully.
• Check the university's graduate programs, labs, and admission information.
• The following programs are approved for JADS at Hiroshima University:
  • Master's Program, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering
  • Master's Program, Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life
  • Master's Program, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences
  • Master's Program, Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society

Application Flow

1. Carefully choose an academic program and the faculty with whom you want to be supervised.
2. Register on the International Admissions Assistant System to initiate contact with a potential supervisor.
3. Apply for an entrance examination.
4. Pay the application fee.
5. Take the entrance examination.
6. If you successfully pass the exam, apply for a scholarship to JADS.
7. If you win the scholarship, apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE).
8. If a student visa is granted, proceed to matriculation.
