Bachelor in Software Engineering with Honours
Programme Specifications
The Bachelor in Software Engineering with Honours is offered on a full-time basis. The duration of study for the full-time programme is subject to the student's entry qualifications and lasts between four (4) years to a maximum of six (6) years.
The programme is offered on a full-time basis and is based on a 2-Semester per academic session. Generally, students are expected to undertake courses equivalent to between fourteen (14) to eighteen (18) credit hours per semester. Assessment is based on coursework and final examinations given throughout the semester.
Entry Requirements
- Candidates with STPM
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Specific Program Requirements
- Achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.80 at the STPM level
- Achieve at least a Grade B (CGPA 2.67) at the STPM level in the following two (2) subjects:
- Mathematics (T)
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Information and Communication Technology
- Achieve at least a pass (Grade C) at the SPM level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Additional Mathematics
- Achieve at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for exams starting from Session 1 of 2021 or Band 2 for exams up to 2020, according to the validity period on the application date
- Candidates with STAM Qualification
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Specific Program Requirements
- Achieve at least a Rank of Jayyid Jiddan (CGPA: 3.00) in the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Examination
- Achieve at least a pass (Grade C) at the SPM level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Additional Mathematics
- Achieve at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for exams starting from Session 1 of 2021 or Band 2 for exams up to 2020, according to the validity period on the application date
- Candidates from Matriculation/Foundation
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Specific Program Requirements
- Achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.80 at the Matriculation/Foundation level
- Achieve at least a Grade B (CGPA 2.67) at the Matriculation/Foundation level in the following two (2) subjects:
- Mathematics
- Any one of the following subjects:
- Physics/Engineering Physics
- Chemistry/Engineering Chemistry
- Biology
- Computer Science/Computing
- Achieve at least a pass (Grade C) at the SPM level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Additional Mathematics
- Achieve at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for exams starting from Session 1 of 2021 or Band 2 for exams up to 2020, according to the validity period on the application date
- Candidates with Diploma/Equivalent Qualifications
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Specific Program Requirements
- Possess a GCE A-Level qualification with at least a Grade C
- Possess an International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) qualification with a Grade 4 in HL subjects
- Possess an Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) qualification with a Grade C/60% ATAR Rank in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Any one of the following subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Computing
- Achieve at least a pass (Grade C) at the SPM level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Additional Mathematics
- Achieve at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for exams starting from Session 1 of 2021 or Band 2 for exams up to 2020, according to the validity period on the application date
- OR Band 5.5 in IELTS, Academic Score 500 in TOEFL PBT, Score 46 in TOEFL IBT
- Admission through APEL
- At least 21 years old at the time of application
- Passed SPM
- Relevant work experience
- Passed APEL (A) Assessment – T6

Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must:
- Achieve a total of 128 credit hours with a minimum CPA of 2.0
- Pass industrial training (equivalent to 12 credit hours), which 4 credits will be graded and 8 credits as HW (Compulsory Attendance) status
- Complete Software Engineering Final Year Projects
- Pass 5 Professional Skills Certificate (PSC)
