The 2025 North Atlantic Comprehensive Study Program

Program Overview

This program combines academic lectures, site visits, and field studies to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the geographical, geomorphological, and marine environmental characteristics of the North Atlantic coast, as well as a deep immersion in its unique cultural and historical setting. Activities include:

• Visiting world-renowned universities and research institutions such as the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University College London, and University of East Anglia, featuring campus tours, lectures, and lab visits to experience British academic culture firsthand.
• Exploring famous museums, including the Natural History Museum, British Museum, and National Gallery, for a close encounter with British history and culture.
• Field trips to the White Cliffs of Dover and Stonehenge, witnessing Earth's geological evolution since the Cretaceous period and marveling at the greatness and mystery of ancient civilizations.

The program will run from February 14 to February 23, 2025 (10 days in total). Two faculty members will lead and guide the program, with no more than 10 students participating.

Selection Criteria and Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following criteria:

1. Full-time undergraduate students from the Honors College of Ocean University of China.
2. Strong patriotism, support for the Party, good moral character, physical health, and strong independent learning and living skills.
3. Excellent academic performance with no disciplinary violations during university studies.
4. Proficient in English listening and speaking, capable of adapting to English-taught courses.
5. Cooperative with peers, compliant with instructors' guidance, and adherence to local laws and institutional regulations during the program.
6. Proactive completion of pre-departure tasks assigned by instructors, timely fulfillment of daily study and promotional tasks during the program, submission of a post-program report upon return, and active participation in sharing and exchange activities.

Program Costs

The program fee is RMB 27,000 per student, covering:

• Teaching and guidance fees, local transportation, accommodation, intercity/urban group travel, most meals, and activity expenses.
• The College will apply for funding support from the Elite Student Overseas Exchange Program, with subsidies distributed upon approval.
• Additional personal expenses include international airfare, passport/visa fees, some meals, insurance, and other individual costs.
• Selected students must pay a RMB 7,000 deposit within three working days after the announcement, with the remaining fees due at a later notice.

Application and Selection

Students must complete the online application and submit a signed Letter of Commitment. The College will review applications and select participants based on comprehensive qualifications.

The daily schedule for the program is detailed in Attachment 1. The program will provide students with a unique opportunity to experience British academic culture, explore famous museums, and witness Earth's geological evolution.
