Course Description
This online, non-credit course delivers essential and practical skills in goal setting and motivation, time management, and communication. Core concepts include professional communication (written, verbal, non-verbal, and listening), techniques to align motivation with short- and long-term goal setting, and time management strategies for prioritizing tasks and adapting to change. The course features three customizable skill development levels and a work-based learning approach that encourages learners to apply new skills in real-time while reflecting on their growthboth professionally and personally.

Course Completion
Upon successfully completing the Base Camp 1 level or above in all three skills, learners will be awarded a non-credit Certificate of Completion in Essential Skills from the University of Denver. Additionally, all students will receive a Skill Achievement Record (SAR) that is customized to their level of skill achievement, highlighting the skills learned in the course. The SAR can be shared with colleagues and employers or posted to social media pages.
