Introduction to the "3+2" Joint Cultivation Program

The "3+2" joint cultivation program is a collaborative effort between Southwest University and the Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Italy. This program aims to cultivate high-level talents in the field of agriculture and food science, serving the national rural revitalization strategy and the internationalization of agricultural talents.

School Introduction

The Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is ranked among the top 350 universities globally in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The university's Food Science & Technology program is ranked 51-75 globally, and its College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences has 13 professors who are among the world's top scientists. The college is involved in major agricultural projects, such as the EU's "Horizon 2020," and has collaborations with companies like Barilla and Ferrero.

Cultivation Mode

The program adopts a "3+2" joint cultivation mode, where students complete their first three years of undergraduate studies at Southwest University and then pursue a two-year master's degree at the Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Optional Master's Programs

Students can choose from two master's programs:

1. Sustainable Viticulture and Enology (SVE) at the Piacenza campus
2. Agriculture and Food Economics (AFE) at the Cremona campus

Employment and Direct Doctoral Opportunities

1. Internship Guidance: The college provides directed internships with 39 benchmark enterprises in the fields of winemaking, agricultural production, food technology, and policy research.
2. Doctoral Direct Path: Master's graduates can apply for the "Agrisystem" doctoral program at the Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with 20 full-scholarship positions available each year.

Application Conditions

Application Qualifications

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0 or above, or an average score of 75/100 or above, for their first three years of undergraduate studies.

Language Requirements

Applicants must participate in a four-week online English intensive course (approximately 12,000 yuan) to adapt to the fully English-taught environment. Those who provide an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL score of 80 by June 30, 2025, can be exempted from the language course.

Program Fees

Tuition Fees, International Student Scholarships, and Invernizzi Foundation Scholarships

1. Standard Tuition Fees: 9,050 euros per academic year for the 2025/26 academic year at the Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
2. USCS International Scholarship: The Universitŕ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore provides a 22% tuition fee waiver for international students from Southwest University, reducing the tuition fee to 7,000 euros per academic year.
3. Invernizzi Foundation Scholarship: For the 2025/26 academic year, the Invernizzi Foundation provides an additional 2,500 euros scholarship for students enrolled in the Agriculture and Food Economics master's program, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Living Expenses

The cost of living in Piacenza and Cremona is approximately 400 euros per month, significantly lower than in major European cities. Meal prices in the cafeteria range from 5 to 7.5 euros per meal.

• Regular Round: From now until April 11, 2025
