Business Management - BComm (Hons)

The Business Management degree program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business principles and practices. The program offers a range of specializations, including Economics and Management Science, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Global Management, Health Services Management, Human Resources Management, Law and Business, Marketing Management, and Real Estate Management.


Program Overview

The program is offered in both full-time and part-time formats, with various entry options, including direct entry to third year and co-op programs. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in business principles, as well as specialized knowledge in their chosen major.


Admission Requirements

Admission to the program is based on academic performance, with a minimum overall average of 70% required for consideration. Applicants must also complete specific Grade 12 U courses, including English and mathematics.


Full-Time Program Requirements

  • Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%
  • Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 70% in each):
    • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
    • Mathematics (one of Calculus and Vectors [MCV4U], Advanced Functions [MHF4U] or Mathematics of Data Management [MDM4U])
  • MCV4U is the preferred mathematics course

Part-Time Program Requirements

All applicants to the program must have the following qualifications:


  • A. OSSD with 6 Grade 12 U/M courses, including Grade 12 U courses in: English and Mathematics (one of Grade 12 U Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U) or Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)).
  • OR
  • B. Ability to meet TMU's mature student guidelines.
  • AND
  • C. Completion of at least one certificate program from the Business Management area taken through The Chang School of Continuing Education, or 7 individual courses from the Bachelor of Commerce (Business Management) program taken through The Chang School of Continuing Education, or equivalent qualifications from other post-secondary institutions.

Economics and Management Science

This major focuses on economic analysis and quantitative skills, with career possibilities including data scientist, economist, investment analyst, policy advisor, and research analyst.


Entrepreneurship and Innovation

This major prepares students to start their own businesses or work in existing organizations, with career possibilities including business consultant, entrepreneur, financial analyst, industry analyst, and investor.


Global Management

This major focuses on managerial skills and cultural understanding required to function effectively in the global business environment, with career possibilities including account representative, business analyst, export coordinator, financial analyst, and operations analyst.


Health Services Management

This major explores innovations and technologies in health services management, policy, ethics, law, and informatics, with career possibilities including clinical informatics specialist, decision support analyst, health informatics analyst, healthcare manager, and quality improvement manager.


Human Resources Management

This major focuses on managing a diverse workforce, recruiting employees strategically, retaining good personnel, and training and developing employees, with career possibilities including compensation and benefits manager, employee relations manager, HR analyst, learning and development lead, and talent management advisor.


Law and Business

This major offers the strongest integration of law and business among all Bachelor of Commerce programs in Canada, with career possibilities including compliance officer, corporate communications coordinator, internal audit coordinator, investor relations associate, and sustainability analyst.


Marketing Management

This major focuses on interpreting and responding to customer needs, with career possibilities including brand manager, business development coordinator, public relations associate, social media coordinator, and sports marketer.


Real Estate Management

This major focuses on the skills required to flourish in the housing and commercial property arenas, with career possibilities including appraiser, commercial/residential real estate agent, mortgage officer, private equity analyst, and research analyst.


Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees range from $11,682 to $11,738 for Ontario students, $12,526 to $12,582 for out-of-province students, and $42,316 to $42,372 for international students.


Financial Assistance

The university offers various forms of financial assistance, including government financial aid programs, awards, scholarships, and bursaries.


Ted Rogers School of Management

The Ted Rogers School of Management is located in the heart of downtown Toronto and offers a range of degree programs, including Accounting & Finance, Business Management, Business Technology Management, Health Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Retail Management.
