The postgraduate studies in editing and publishing provide students with the knowledge and skills related to the publishing process, including text editing and correction, DTP, graphic design, and printing technologies. The program also covers the functioning of a publishing company, including work organization, promotion, and the contemporary book market.

Characterization of Studies

The postgraduate studies in editing and publishing enable students to acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas:

• Process of publishing (redaction and correction of text, DTP, graphic design)
• Functioning of a publishing company (organization of work in a publishing house, promotion, contemporary book market, copywriting in a publishing company)
• Printing technologies
• Latest technologies in editing

Program Structure

The program consists of two semesters and includes a block of classes on electronic publications (typography of electronic publications, electronic forms of publication). Students will have the opportunity to participate in internships at the UMK Scientific Publishing House.

Graduate Profile

Graduates of the postgraduate studies in editing and publishing acquire qualifications related to editing, necessary for professions such as editor, proofreader, or typesetting operator. The skills acquired during the studies will enable graduates to find employment in publishing houses, magazine editorial offices, advertising agencies, and cultural institutions.
