Introduction to Beijing University of Technology

Beijing University of Technology, established in 1960, is a multidisciplinary university with a focus on engineering, combining fields such as science, engineering, economics, management, literature, and law. It was one of the first universities approved by the Ministry of Education to confer master's degrees in 1981 and doctoral degrees in 1985. In 1996, it passed the preliminary review of the "211 Project," officially becoming one of the 100 key universities for the 21st century.

College Introduction

The College of Economics and Management at Beijing University of Technology currently has 115 full-time teachers, with Professor Li Jingwen, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serving as the dean. There are 17 professors and researchers, 56 associate professors, and over 60% of the teachers hold doctoral or master's degrees. The college has a postdoctoral research station for Management Science and Engineering, two doctoral programs, three master's programs, three fields for engineering master's degrees, and authorization for MBA and International Business professional degrees.

MBA Education Center Introduction

Beijing University of Technology was authorized to confer MBA professional degrees in 2007 and established the MBA Education Center. The center is a school-level institution under the guidance of the Graduate School, specializing in MBA professional degree education and management. Its core objective is to serve students and talent cultivation, fostering technologically and economically versatile elites and backbones in the industry who meet the requirements of the times. The center has formed an efficient, dedicated, honest, and practical team and has completed the training of three cohorts of MBA students.

• Cultivation Links: The MBA training system is divided into modules: a foundation module to master basic theoretical knowledge and basic professional skills, a core module to improve problem-solving abilities through real operations and practice, and a development module for professional training to make students think diligently, understand business, and know how to manage. This is achieved through a step-by-step training process to complete course learning and thesis writing.

Application Conditions

Applicants must have graduated with a bachelor's degree or above from a university within the national education system before July 31, 2010, and hold a degree certificate (generally with a graduate certificate). Priority is given to management personnel from state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises. Applicants who meet the application conditions must have their qualification review form filled out and recommended by the personnel department of their unit.

Examination Subjects, Methods, and Time

• Examination Subjects: English and comprehensive ability (first stage), political theory (second stage), totaling three subjects.
• Examination Time: The 2013 national joint examination will take place on October 27, 2013. The political theory examination time and location will be announced separately (please check the Beijing University of Technology Graduate Admissions website in December 2013).

Examination and Admission

The re-examination is organized by the Beijing University of Technology MBA Education Center, mainly in the form of background investigation and interview, including comprehensive quality and ability. The re-examination score is included in the total score in a certain proportion, and those who fail the re-examination are not admitted.

Beijing University of Technology has an MBA enrollment plan of 100 students in 2013. The university independently determines the national joint examination and political theory examination score lines and, based on the applicants' initial examination scores and re-examination scores, admits students on a competitive basis.

Cultivation and Degree Granting

The learning mode for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) is part-time, utilizing weekends and holidays, without transferring household registration, personnel relations, etc. During the study period, salaries, benefits, medical expenses, etc., are borne by the MBA student's unit. The total tuition fee is 66,000 yuan per person, paid in two installments.

The MBA program has a study period of 2.5 years, with a learning duration of 2.5 to 4 years. Students who complete the Beijing University of Technology MBA training program, achieve the required credits, pass the examination, and defend their thesis can be granted a Master of Business Administration degree by Beijing University of Technology after review and approval by the university's degree evaluation committee.
