MASTER'S PROGRAMS

The Taipei School of Economics and Political Science offers a Master's program with three specializations: Asian Political Economy (MAPE), Global Political Economy (MGPE), and Economic Development (MED).

Program Overview

The program is designed to provide students with extensive knowledge of the dynamics of Asian economies and the key trends underlying the global political economy. The pedagogy is based on an integrative vision, enabling students to apply interdisciplinary knowledge and avoid partial analysis or unidimensional thinking.

Key Facts

• Minimum residence: Two years (four semesters)
• Language: English
• Admission slots: 54 students (5 local, 45 international, and 4 Overseas Chinese students)
• Tuition: NT$135,000 per semester (full-time), with a total cost for the two-year program of NT$540,000 (approximately US$18,000)
• Qualification: Proficiency in English and sufficient social sciences background
• Specialization: Asian Political Economy (MAPE), Global Political Economy (MGPE), and Economic Development (MED)
• Course work requirement: 24 credits (equivalent of 12 courses), plus 4 credits of Mandarin Chinese courses for international students
• M.A. thesis: Required
• Start date: September 2026
• Applications Open: September 1, 2025 (international), October 8, 2025 (domestic), and TBA (Overseas Chinese)
