Pharmacy Technician Hybrid Program
The Pharmacy Technician Hybrid program is designed to prepare students to work as pharmacy technicians in retail, hospital, or other pharmacy settings. The program covers various topics, including pharmacy sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, handling sterile products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), prescription dispensing, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement.

Course Description
The program provides an overview of preparing medication for dispensing to patients, including retrieving drugs in the correct dosage form and strength, measuring the appropriate amount of drug, and producing a prescription label. Pharmacy technicians work with drugs to be administered orally, topically, for the eye, nose, etc. Depending on the practice setting, pharmacy technicians may also be involved in the admixture of drugs for intravenous use.
Meeting Schedule
The program meets on the following schedule:
- Mondays: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (in-person at SFSU Downtown Campus)
- Wednesdays: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (online via Zoom)
Refund Information
The refund policy is as follows:
- Full Refund: Class dropped before the last day to add
- 75% Refund: Not applicable
- No Refund: Class dropped after the full refund deadline
