4LIFE Entrepreneurship Programme

The School of Entrepreneurship is dedicated to supporting the educational and career aspirations of South Africa's youth. To this end, it offers 20 exclusive bursaries to deserving students at the University of South Africa (Unisa) to participate in the part-time 4LIFE Entrepreneurship Programme alongside their ongoing studies.

Bursary Overview

• Value of Bursary: R18,000
• Start Date: 5 March 2024
• Eligibility: Open to students from all demographics and ambition levels, particularly those unable to seek employment in their fields of study.

Programme Structure

• The programme accommodates students' schedules with:
  • One online session of 60 minutes per week.
  • Recorded sessions available for later viewing.
• The content provided is equivalent in depth and value to the full-time programme, designed to extend the completion timeline.

Objectives

• Equip students with supplementary skills for economic engagement through entrepreneurship.
• Facilitate the launch of micro-businesses as well as larger enterprises.

Year One Goals

• Assist students in starting their business through:
  • Online interactive coaching.
  • A structured roadmap and necessary support.
  • Provision of a website and hosting at no additional cost.

Additional Benefits

• Lifetime access to an entrepreneurial community post-completion of the first year, including:
  • Monthly mentorship and accountability sessions.
  • Access to additional training and specialized modules (e.g., Facebook advertising, legal policies, financial statements).
  • Networking opportunities through monthly referral marketing sessions with fellow students.

Application Process for Bursary

1. Completing the Application: Students must submit an application form, including their contact details.
2. Assessment: A short assessment, taking 5 to 10 minutes, to evaluate suitability for the programme.
3. Claims and Enrollment: Successful candidates are required to pay a one-off registration fee of R1,995 to secure their bursary and gain admission into the programme.

• The registration fee is intended to affirm the commitment of students, ensuring that the bursaries are awarded to those who demonstrate ambition and intent to establish enterprises that can provide personal income and potentially create jobs for others.
