Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program is a fast-paced, 15-month program designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree in any field. The program prepares students for a career in nursing and enables them to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) required for licensure as a registered nurse (RN).

Program Overview

The ABSN program is offered on campus and consists of 58 semester units of approved undergraduate courses. The program is designed to be completed in four consecutive semesters, with students learning to assess, restore, maintain, promote, and evaluate the health of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, applicants must:

• Possess an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or international equivalent with a GPA of 3.21 or higher, or a master's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Have all prerequisite course grades of "C" or higher
• Complete all prerequisite coursework within seven years of the application deadline
• Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended
• Submit a well-written statement of purpose, resume, and recent volunteer experience with validating documents (if applicable)

Program Requirements

The program requires students to:

• Complete a minimum of 58 semester units of approved undergraduate courses
• Complete all coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Pass a background check and drug screening
• Obtain and maintain clinical requirements, such as health exams and immunizations, at their own cost
• Attend clinical rotations in community settings, which may include weekends and evenings

Tuition and Fees

The tuition for the ABSN program is $1,086 per unit, with a total of 58 units required for the degree. The total tuition cost is $62,988. Additional fees include a university application fee, books and supplies, and a graduation application fee.
