Program Overview

The Master of Science (MSc) in Management is a 12-month program that combines coursework and a research project conducted under the guidance and mentorship of internationally recognized scholars. The program is located in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

This program is normally completed in one year (three consecutive terms), during which time you will complete a major research paper.

Marketing

The Master of Science (MSc) in Management degree with a concentration in Marketing is designed for students who want to pursue a PhD with the ultimate goal of being an academic or pursuing a research-based career in industry. The program provides foundational training in research methods relevant to analysis in scholarship or market research.

Consumer Research Lab

The Marketing area boasts a state-of-the-art Consumer Research Lab, equipped with software for controlled experimental studies or survey-based, online data collection.


Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management (OB/HRM)

The Master of Science (MSc) in Management degree program with a concentration in Organizational Behaviour (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM) is designed for students who want to pursue a PhD with the ultimate goal of being an academic or having a research-based career.

Einwechter Centre for Supply Chain Management

The Lazaridis School is home to the Einwechter Centre for Supply Chain Management, an institution devoted to bringing together researchers, practitioners, and strategic decision makers to improve supply chain management study and practice.


Research

Faculty Expertise

Our OB/HRM faculty are researching a wide range of topics, including aggression, diversity, emotions, ethics, fairness, leadership, power, performance management, and personality. Our Marketing faculty are conducting research in consumer behaviour, innovation, marketing strategy, brand management, services marketing, as well as marketing analytics and data modelling.


Research Centres

Many of our faculty are associated with research centres and groups such as the Centre for Supply Chain Management, the Centre for Strategic Leadership, the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship, and the Laurier Centre for Economic Research and Policy Analysis.


Admissions

Admission Requirements

  • For the OB/HRM field, you need an undergraduate (honours) degree in business or other field relating to OB/HRM.
  • For the Marketing field, you need an undergraduate (honours) degree in business/commerce or other field relating to Marketing.
  • For the SCM field, you need an undergraduate (honours) degree in business or other related fields.
  • A minimum B+ average in your undergraduate studies.
  • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, normally by successful completion of the GMAT Focus exam with a score of 595 or higher.
  • Proficiency in English.

Applications will be considered until the program is full. An application for admission to our MSc in Management program must include:

Tuition and Funding

Tuition

  • MSc in Management (Domestic): $2,622.92 per term, $7,868.76 total
  • MSc in Management (International): $7,487 per term, $22,461 total

Funding and Research Scholarships

Eligible domestic students receive an average of $16,500 in financial support. Support is made up of graduate teaching assistantships as well as internal and/or external scholarships.


Careers

Our graduates have gone on to work in industry within their respective fields or pursue further academic studies at the PhD level. Examples of jobs held by our graduates include manager, business analytics, bilingual resource manager, supply chain analyst, and business development consultant.
