نظرة عامة على البرنامج


Master of Science in Tourism

The Master of Science in Tourism is a one-year program consisting of 60 ECTS credits. The program is designed to provide students with multidisciplinary academic knowledge in the field of tourism, enabling them to responsibly plan, organize, manage, and run companies or their units dealing with the tourism industry.


Admission Conditions

To be eligible for the program, students must have completed bachelor academic studies in duration of four years. Students who enroll in master academic studies have to take the exam in the entrance module (group of courses). Equivalent exams taken during the previous study cycle will be recognized.


Program Structure

The program consists of one compulsory common course for all modules (Final graduation thesis Master Thesis weighing 27 ECTS), courses compulsory to each particular module, and free elective courses. Each module requires a group of compulsory courses:


  • Module Tourism: 3 courses with a total credit score of 15 ECTS
  • Module Hotel Management: 4 courses with a total credit score of 21 ECTS
  • Module Hunting Tourism: 3 courses with a total credit score of 15 ECTS

The rest of the ECTS credits are accumulated through elective courses. A group of elective courses contains 20 courses, with availability and semester distribution defined for each course.


Credit Values of Particular Courses

The credit score of the study program is 60 ECTS.


Transferring from Another Study Programme

Conditions for transfer from other study programs within related fields are defined in accordance with the valid study programs at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad.


Teaching Methods

Teaching is conducted through active teaching hours, professional practice, fieldwork, seminar papers (project tasks), and consultative work.


Purpose of the Study Programme

The purpose of the study program is to gain multidisciplinary academic knowledge in the field of tourism, enabling master students to responsibly plan, organize, manage, and run companies or their units dealing with the tourism industry.


Goals of the Study Programme

The goals of the study program include:


  • Development of critical thinking and ability to understand and solve problems
  • Creating professionals who are capable of teamwork and ready to communicate their achievements
  • Educating professionals who possess substantial experience in applying specific research methods and techniques

Skills of Students upon Completion of the Programme

Upon completion of the program, students will acquire the following general competencies:


  • Ability of retrospection, shaping, and predicting the phenomena in practical and theoretical aspects of business in tourism
  • Ability of creative thinking, analysis, and conclusion in all aspects of tourism business environment
  • Ability to solve complex theoretical and practical problems related to tourism
  • Ability to understand and apply professional ethics related to the field of tourism

Curriculum

The Master in Tourism study program contains one common compulsory course for all modules Final graduation thesis master thesis weighing 27 ECTS credits. Students choose one of the three elective modules: Module Tourism, Module Hotel Management, or Module Hunting Tourism.


Elective Courses

Elective courses are available in two blocks, with students required to choose a certain number of courses from each block to accumulate the required ECTS credits.


Course Distribution

Courses are distributed across two semesters, with the structure of the study program based on a 75% share of elective courses on Modules Tourism and Hunting Tourism, and a 65% share of elective courses on Module Hotel Management.
