Introduction to the SERC School on Statistical Physics

The SERC School on Statistical Physics is a pedagogical program aimed at bridging the gap between M.Sc. level courses and current research in statistical physics. The school is intended to provide a basic introduction to the main areas of current activity and prepare participants for the upcoming International Conference on Statistical Physics.

Program Details

The school will cover various topics in statistical physics, including:

• General theory and rigorous results, taught by D. Dhar
• Critical Phenomena and scaling, taught by M. Barma
• Time-dependent phenomena, taught by S. Ramaswamy
• Exactly solved models, taught by I. Bose
• Computational statistical physics, taught by D. Chowdhury
• Systems far from equilibrium, taught by S.N. Majumdar

Target Audience

The school is intended for Ph.D. students, post-docs, and interested college teachers.

Benefits and Requirements

All selected candidates will be provided travel, board, and lodging as per DST norms. Participants are required to attend the entire school.
