Introduction to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program at Dalian Maritime University

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Dalian Maritime University is designed to cultivate high-quality, innovative, and application-oriented public management professionals. Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the MPA program, applicants must meet the following requirements:


  1. Be a citizen of the People's Republic of China
  2. Support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and abide by the laws and regulations of the country
  3. Be in good physical and mental health
  4. Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least three years of work experience; or have a junior college diploma or equivalent, with at least five years of work experience; or have a master's or doctoral degree, with at least two years of work experience

Application Procedure

The application procedure consists of two stages: online registration and online confirmation.


  • Online registration: Applicants must register online during the designated period, providing required documents and information.
  • Online confirmation: Applicants must confirm their registration online, submitting additional materials as required.

Examination

The MPA entrance examination consists of two stages: initial examination and re-examination.


  • Initial examination: The initial examination is administered by the Ministry of Education and includes two subjects: management comprehensive ability and English (or Russian or Japanese).
  • Re-examination: The re-examination is conducted by the university, and the specific subjects and requirements are determined by the university.

Study Mode and Location

The MPA program is offered in a combination of weekend and concentrated study modes.


  • Weekend classes: Classes are held every other weekend, with full-day learning on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Concentrated classes: Classes are held four times a year, with one concentrated learning session per quarter.

Duration and Tuition Fees

The MPA program has a duration of two years, with a maximum study period of four years. The tuition fee is 25,000 yuan per year.


Assessment and Graduation

Students who complete the required credits and pass the thesis defense are awarded a master's degree. The university's academic degree evaluation committee reviews and approves the degree conferment.
