Program Details: Additional Professional Training Program "Guide-Excursion Leader"

Introduction

The Center for Competence Development "UNIVERSUM+" of the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies at Kazan Federal University offers a professional retraining program for excursion leaders. This program is designed to provide comprehensive training for individuals seeking to acquire new professional skills in the field of excursion activities.

Program Objectives

• Form professional competencies necessary for performing a new type of professional activity, acquiring a new qualification in the field of excursion activities.
• Provide comprehensive training for listeners to independently conduct bus and walking tours of Kazan and accompany tourist groups to other cities and municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan with route information.
• Develop speech skills, master the techniques of public speaking necessary in excursion activities.
• Familiarize students with the principles of organizing and conducting excursions.

Target Audience

• Individuals with higher education.
• Individuals receiving higher education.
• Individuals with secondary professional education.
• The program is recommended for individuals with secondary professional and/or higher education in the following professions/specialties/areas of training: tourism, socio-cultural service and tourism, tourism and excursion business, socio-cultural activities, museology, and protection of cultural and natural heritage objects.
• The program is also recommended for individuals with qualifications and/or experience in professional activities in the field of tourism, excursion activities, socio-cultural activities, museology, pedagogy.

Requirements for Listeners

• Proficiency in the Russian language.

Final Document

Upon completion of the program, listeners receive a diploma of professional retraining from Kazan Federal University.

Program Volume and Duration

• Volume of training: 250 academic hours.
• Duration of training: 4 months.
• Start of training: September 26, 2026.
• End of training: January 26, 2027.
• Format of training: Full-time (offline) with a schedule of 3 times a week, not more than 4 academic hours on weekdays and not more than 6 academic hours on weekends. Practical classes around the city (excursions) are held on weekends.

Cost of Training

The cost of the program is 38,000 rubles.

  • Rules for working with excursionists (tourists) on routes (pedestrian, transport, and combined, city and suburban).
  • Rules of behavior for excursionists (tourists) on vehicles.
  • Historical, cultural, and geographical attractions of the region.
  • Objects of demonstration and narration.
  • Techniques of public speaking.
  • Laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation in the field of tourism.
• Be able to:
  • Represent excursion objects.
  • Apply methodological techniques during the excursion.
  • Develop various excursion routes.
  • Compile a technological map of the excursion, taking into account the type of tourism, transport, duration, and main stops, as well as the themes of informational and excursion activities.
  • Determine the technique of leading the excursion.
  • Use methodological techniques of demonstration and narration during the excursion.
  • Correct the excursion program due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Apply knowledge of psychology in working with a group.
  • Resolve conflict situations arising on the routes, organize the movement of excursionists, and ensure the arrangement of the group near the objects.
