Course Overview
The Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) is a provider of secondary school leaving qualifications and further education qualifications, regulated by OFQUAL and awarded by Pearson – UK. BTEC qualifications are accepted by all universities globally that accept global education. When assessing the suitability of applicants for admission, many such universities base their conditional admissions offers on a student's predicted BTEC grades.
Entry Requirements
Eligibility Criteria Level 5:
- A* to C and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) grade in GCSE Maths is strongly recommended
- A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering
- A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject.
- This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent)
- Other related Level 3 qualifications
- An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
- Related work experience
- An international equivalent of the above.

Course Structure
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA BTEC Level 5
- Course Duration: 1 year after Level 4
- No. of credits: 180
- Mix of core, specialist, and optional units for each pathway. The Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) requirements must be met.
- Some specialist units are available as optional units, and some optional units are available as specialist units.

- SPECIALIST UNIT – Further Mathematics
- SPECIALIST UNIT – Aircraft Flight Control System
