Summer Internship + Academic Program
The Summer Internship + Academic Program is designed for students interested in studying abroad in Spain while advancing their career. This program allows students to earn up to 6 credits while completing an 8-week internship in Seville, Spain.
Program Details
- The program takes place from May to July 2026.
- Students will take courses on Mondays and spend 20 hours a week at their internship site between Tuesdays and Fridays.
- Participants will also enjoy planned cultural activities and weekend excursions throughout their two-month stay.
Internship Opportunities
The Spanish Institute offers internships in various fields, including:
- Business: international trade, accounting and finance, marketing and information technology, public relations
- Health: rehabilitation, cognitive therapy, audiology centers, sports health and physiotherapy
- Journalism: digital magazine, local newspapers
- Education: private regulated education centers, nurseries, language schools
- Translation: companies that offer translation services
- Art and culture: foundations, galleries, museums
- Social events and academic events planning
- Travel: agencies, glamping
- Ecological agriculture
- Sports: sports marketing, organizing visits to schools, sports medicine
- Media, marketing: photography, communication, promotional materials, social networks
- Tourism, museums: understanding company products and services, creating promotional materials, coordinating events

Service-Learning
As a volunteer, students can play a fundamental role in the community by helping in different environments. Volunteer experiences are available in:
- Social: homeless people, educational support, child protection, LGTB, environment, sports and community development
- Health: soup kitchens, assistance
- International: immigrants, refugees, soup kitchens, legal assistance
Orientation
The Spanish Institute's orientation provides students with vital information about adapting to life in Spain, the program, schedule, safety, activities, transportation, and their volunteer or internship program.

Cultural Program
The Spanish Institute offers a diverse cultural program to complement the Eight-Week Academic and Internship Program. Educational excursions around Seville will introduce students to the city's historical and cultural landmarks.
Academic Credit and Certificates
- Students can earn up to 6 credits upon successful completion of the program
- The Spanish Institute provides a certificate of participation in the program
- Letters of recommendation are available upon request

- ISL 398 Internship and Service-Learning Program: all areas, 3 credits

Accommodation
Students will participate in a local homestay experience with full room and board. Subject to availability, students may opt to stay in a residence hall or shared apartment.

The Spanish Institute offers health insurance that gives access to the best private hospitals and covers everything related to COVID-19.
Program Price
The 8-week program price is 4,805, which includes internships or service-volunteering position, Spanish Language and Culture Intensive Program, cultural program, host family, full board, and optional School of Record for an additional 400.
