BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management
The BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management is a nationally recognised qualification developed in consultation with industry experts. This course aims to help achieve career goals by developing cognitive and communication skills, identifying, analysing, and synthesising information from various sources, and transferring knowledge to others.
Course Description
Completion of this course may open career pathways in small and large businesses across a range of industry sectors or government. Potential roles may include:
- Department Manager
- Senior Manager
- Executive Manager
- Director Manager
- Human Resources Manager
- Senior Executive
Successful completion of this course can also be a pathway to pursue other advanced diplomas qualifications or graduate certificate/graduate diploma qualifications with 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
Course Duration
This course will be delivered over a total of 52 weeks, which comprises 40 study weeks and 12 weeks of term break.

- Sydney Campus: Suite 602 & 603, Level 6, 541 Kent Street, SYDNEY NSW 2000
- Melbourne Campus: Suite 301, Level 3, 201 Fitzroy Street, ST KILDA VIC 3182
Entry Criteria
The following local entry criteria apply:
- Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age at enrolment.
- Successfully completed High School Certificate (Year 12) or equivalent.
- Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions). Or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
- Have sound English literacy skills.
- Provide IELTS certificate showing an overall band 6.0, or
- Where an IELTS certificate is not necessary as part of their visa application, undertake Choice Business College's Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment and achieve the following ACSF Levels:
- Learning – Level 4
- Reading – Level 4
- Writing – Level 4
- Oral Communication – Level 4
- Numeracy – Level 4
Course Credit
Credit Transfer is the recognition of learning achieved through formal education and training. Choice Business College acknowledges the requirement as a Registered Training Organisation to recognise the awards issued by other RTOs.
Recognition of Prior Learning
All students at Choice Business College are offered the opportunity to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at enrolment. Students may be granted credit or partial credit in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience, and/or prior training.
Course Outcome (Awards)
- Successful completion of all ten (10) units of competencies required to be awarded with an AQF certification.
- Partial completions will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment.

- BSBLDR602: Provide leadership across the organisation
- BSBOPS601: Develop and implement business plans
- BSBSTR601: Manage innovation and continuous improvement
- BSBSTR602: Develop organisational strategies
- BSBPMG633: Provide leadership for the program
- BSBFIN601: Manage organisational finances
- BSBMKG621: Develop organisational marketing strategy
- BSBHRM614: Contribute to strategic workforce planning
Assessment Methods
Assessments may be conducted through a combination of the following methods:
- Knowledge Questions: Learners are assessed through questioning in some units to identify the student's underpinning knowledge in the context of practical tasks.
- Project Portfolio: Learners are assessed through written reports in some units to ensure the learners possess the technical skills in writing and drafting professional workplace reports. Learners are also assessed through practical activities in some units, involving simulated industry environments.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Students are required by the Australian Government to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI, we cannot issue your credential (Certificate & Transcript, or Statement of Attainment).
