The Diploma Program in Spanish Cuisine and Mediterranean Diet is a comprehensive course designed to provide students with extensive knowledge and skills in Spanish cooking and gastronomy. The program is offered by ECOTUR and includes a Spanish Language Course, formation in cuisine, and paid internships in Spain.
Program Overview
The program is 12 months long and takes place in Valencia, Spain. It includes:
- A Spanish Language Course (200 hours)
- Formation in Cuisine (1,110 hours), covering recipes, Mediterranean Diet, preparations, and culinary production
- Paid internships in Spain, including 3 daily meals, a scholarship of 300 per month, and accommodation
Course Objectives
The program aims to provide students with:
- Knowledge of products and raw materials from the Iberian Peninsula
- Mastery of basic elaboration techniques
- Development of creative skills to prepare dishes with a marked Mediterranean character
Study Program Structure
The program is divided into three periods:
Period 1: Spanish Language Studies
- A1-A2 Level of Spanish Language
Period 2: Culinary Arts
- Recipes of main raw materials and products of the Mediterranean diet
- Classic preparations with meat, fish, vegetables, and beans
- Culinary production of sea and mountain rice dishes
Period 3: Internships in Hotels and Restaurants
- Accommodation provided by the employer
- Free maintenance (3 meals, 7 days/week)
- 300 per month in concept of financial aid for the employers
Entry Requirements
The program is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old who have completed high school or vocational training in a related field. For non-EU students, the access requirements include:
- Currently studying in a related field in their country of origin in a recognized official center
- Completed studies in the aforementioned field, with the date of completion not exceeding 5 years
- Processing of a study visa
Study Visa Process
International students are required to apply for a study visa to enroll in study courses in Spain. The basic documents to provide include:
- Certificate of enrollment in ECOTUR
- Proof of payment of the study program
- Plan of studies to be carried out
- Passport copy
- Study Visa Application Form + payment of Embassy fees
- Medical insurance
- Financial solvency: minimum 750 euros per month to cover living expenses
- Proof of clear criminal record
- Health certificate
- Birth certificate
Official Training Program
The Diploma Program in Spanish Cuisine and Mediterranean Diet is an official training program in Spain, with 100% employability. The program is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor of Spain and the University of Valencia.
