International Year One (UTP Stage II): Economics and Finance

The International Year One (UTP Stage II): Economics and Finance program is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University's Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Finance. Upon successful completion of this program, students will begin the second year of their degree at Toronto Metropolitan University.


Overview

In this program, students will explore the interconnectedness of worldwide markets and acquire the economic skills necessary to make strategic decisions from an informed global perspective. The program includes participation in local or international work placements, case studies, advanced analysis and computer simulations, and specialized training in economics, finance, mathematics, and statistics. Students will also have the option to complete a Co-op and will complete a required internship/Co-op in a professional environment.

Progression to Toronto Metropolitan University

Upon successful completion of the International Year One (UTP Stage II): Economics and Finance program, including achieving a 2.67 CGPA, students will transfer to the Economics and Finance program at Toronto Metropolitan University with a minimum of 10.0 credits toward their degree. Once progressed to Toronto Metropolitan University, students will continue their studies with courses in mathematics for economics, academic research and writing, and second-year Economics and Finance courses.
