Introduction to the MBA Program

The Berkeley College MBA in Management program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in business management. The program can be completed in either a traditional two-year format or an accelerated one-year format.

Core Courses

The core courses are designed to provide students with a foundation in business principles and practices. The core courses include:


  • MBA5501 Essentials of Management: This course provides a focused review of management, strategy, marketing, accounting, finance, and economics.
  • MBA6610 Operations Management: This course focuses on business processes, procedures, and strategies used to transform inputs into finished goods and services.
  • MBA6615 Leadership and Corporate Governance: This course addresses how leadership influences behavior in organizations and integrates approaches to leadership and management theory.
  • MBA6620 Managerial Economics for Business Decision-Making: This course explores models of decision-making and the application of micro and macroeconomic principles to business decision-making.
  • MBA6625 Managerial Finance: This course provides a conceptual foundation for analyzing a firm's financial decisions and requires students to make financial decisions in uncertain, real-world situations.
  • MBA6630 Marketing Strategy in a Global Context: This course takes an innovative approach to the marketing function by developing strategic thinking along two lines customer satisfaction and profitability.
