Overview of the Program

The Advanced Practice Post-BSN-DNP Concentrations program at James Madison University is designed for students who have completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and are seeking educational preparation for certification as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and to progress seamlessly to earning their DNP degree.

Program Details

• Two concentration options: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)
• Full-time 3-year plan of study
• Hybrid Program (blend of online and face-to-face classes)
• January start date

Program Coordinator Welcome

The BSN-DNP program thoroughly prepares students with the knowledge and advanced skill set necessary to lead nursing practice and positively impact patient outcomes from the highest levels. All BSN-DNP program graduates will demonstrate the competencies in The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
