Primary Education Program

Overview

The Primary Education program at Ohio Dominican University prepares students to teach Pre-K through grade 5. The program leads to teaching licensure and offers a double-licensure option with Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist within 4 years. Students who already have a bachelor's degree can also pursue a licensure-only option.

Teacher and Principal Professional Licensure Information

The Primary Education program satisfies the academic requirements for teacher licensure programs at the Bachelor's degree level set forth by the State of Ohio. Graduates who complete the program are eligible to sit for the appropriate Ohio Assessment for Educators exam.

The program has several transition points, including:


  • Prior to Transition Point 1: Pre-Professional Stage
  • Transition Point 1: Admissions to Professional Education
  • Transition Point 3: Program Completion
