Introduction to the Dyslexia Therapist Training Program
The Dyslexia Therapist Training Program (DTTP) is a cohort-based, two-year training program led by the Tennessee Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia at Middle Tennessee State University. This program prepares individuals to deliver Take Flight: A Comprehension Intervention for Students with Dyslexia.
Approach to Training
The Take Flight intervention is trained with fidelity across two years. The goal is to prepare individuals to use the program with fidelity and develop the ability to adapt it to differentiate instruction to meet student needs.
Program Format
The program follows an online-hybrid model, which includes online, asynchronous learning plus in-person training days. Participants also complete 700 hours of supervised practicum work aligned to Take Flight.
