Introduction to the Sports Broadcasting Pre-College Program

The Sports Broadcasting Pre-College Program at Dean College offers a unique opportunity for hands-on and classroom instruction in multiple areas of sports broadcasting, including sports radio, television, and play-by-play broadcasting. Instructed by John Rooke, Director of The Center for Business, Entertainment and Sport Management and the voice of the New England Patriots, New England Revolution, and Providence College men's basketball, students will learn the ins and outs of sports broadcasting.

Program Information

Dates

The program is offering two one-week sessions:

• Session 1: Sunday, July 19, 2026, to Friday, July 24, 2026
• Session 2: Sunday, July 26, 2026, to Friday, July 31, 2026

Academic Credit

Students have the option of earning 3 college credits for this program.

Cost

The cost of the program varies depending on the type of attendance:

• Commuter: $1,500
• Residential: $1,800

Deposit

A $500 deposit is due at the time of registration, which is fully refundable until June 25.

Balance Due Date

The balance is due on June 25.

Program Refund Policy

Students may receive a refund for the program fees, minus the enrollment deposit, up to and including the first day of the course.

Housing and Activities

Housing is provided by Dean College, with night and weekend activities included with room and board, such as:

• Patriot Place
• Free-time on-campus with options including:
  • Flat screen television
  • Billiards
  • Darts
  • Movie nights
  • Workout at Kokes '64 Fitness Center
  • Pickup basketball or soccer games
  • All-you-can-eat ice cream
