Introduction to Camp Bulldog
The British International School of Houston's summer camp, known as 'Camp Bulldog', is designed for children aged 4 to 10. The camp offers a variety of exciting summer skill-building activities, focusing on fun, friendship, and creating unforgettable memories.
Camp Details
- Age Range: The camp is open to children aged 4 to 10 years old.
- Duration: The camp runs for five weeks, from June 22nd to July 24th.
- Time: The Regular Day Camp is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the Extended Day Camp is from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
- Location: The camp is located at the British International School of Houston, with drop-off and pick-up at the Early Years entrance.
- Facilities: The camp utilizes the school's state-of-the-art facilities, including Gaga pits, a spider web, makerspaces, theatres, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a full-size track and field.
Weekly Themes
The camp features weekly themes that shape the daily environment and activities. These themes include:
- Dinosaur Delight (June 22nd – June 26th): Exploring the time of the dinosaurs with activities like creating a dinosaur volcano and a dino dig.
- Sports Mania (June 29th – July 3rd): Unleashing inner athletes with water balloon dodgeball, creating a mini mascot, and a ninja warrior course.
- Nature's Kingdom (July 6th – July 10th): Exploring the wild with activities like creating a diorama of the rainforest and playing with real animals from a petting zoo.
- Ahoy There Matey! (July 13th – July 17th): Pirate-themed activities including making a treasure map, writing a sea shanty, and building a pirate fortress.
- Inventors' Imaginarium (July 20th – July 24th): Unlocking genius with activities like a bridge challenge, creating a recycled robot, and exploring Houston's Children's museum.
Daily Routine
- Snacks and Lunch: The camp is a nut-free environment. Nut-free snacks are provided, and children need to bring a packed lunch (except on Fridays, which are Pizza Days).
- Camp Bases and Specialty Rooms: The camp transforms classrooms into exciting bases for activities, with themes shaping the daily environment.
- Weekly Regulars: Activities include swimming at least three times a week and a pizza party every Friday.
Costs and Discounts
- Regular Day Camp: $550 per week.
- Extended Day Camp: $700 per week.
- Registration Fee: $15 per week (used for special events and field trips).
- Discounts:
- Sign up by January for a 15% discount.
- Sign up by February for a 10% discount.
Refunds and Late Fees
- Refunds: Available if cancellation notice is given at least four weeks in advance, minus a $100 processing fee per child.
- Late Fees:
- 3-3:30 pm pick-up: $15.
- 3:30-4 pm pick-up: $30.
- Beyond 4 pm: $50.
