This program trains students in the application of disease and operation codes to episodes of care in the U.S. healthcare system. It develops expertise in using ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding schemes for both outpatient and inpatient settings. Upon completion, students earn a Healthcare Coding & Classification Certificate of Proficiency and are prepared for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification exam. Graduates are qualified for healthcare coding roles in hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies.
