Program Description

Vancouver Acting School's Acting: Film, Television & Voice-Over Diploma Program is designed to prepare students for the realities of becoming a professional working actor, equipping them with both the creative skills and business know-how.

Program Outline

The program covers the most popular techniques that actors are using today, as well as some little-known techniques that will allow students to discover and develop their own personal acting style. With an emphasis on the business end of the industry, students will progress from this program with confidence in their newly established business: themselves.

Program Structure

The program consists of 10 courses running over 24 weeks, divided into two terms.

Term 1

• ACT-100: Intro to Scene Study
• ACT-110: Intro to Audition
• ACT-120: Intro to Fundamental Skills
• ACT-140: Discovering Voice-Over
• ACT-190: The Business of Being an Actor

Term 2

• ACT-101: Scene Study with Camera
• ACT-111: Audition for Camera
• ACT-121: Expanding Fundamental Skills
• ACT-145: Exploring Voice-Over
• ACT-195: Preparing Your Acting Business

Admission Requirements

• English Language Requirements:
  • International English Language Testing Service (IELTS): minimum score required is overall 6.0
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score required is 68 for the internet-based exam, 190 for the computer-based exam, and 520 for the paper-based exam
  • Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC): minimum score required is 700
  • Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE): minimum level achieved B1
