Degree Overview:

The Pathologists' Assistant (PathA) Master of Science program at Touro University is the first of its kind in New York and was designed to meet the increasing demand for pathologists' assistants over the coming decades. The program prepares graduates for an in-demand career in pathology, with a focus on laboratory work and the examination of specimens.


Objectives:

  • Provide students with a solid foundation in biomedical sciences, pathology coursework, and clinical rotations.
  • Develop students' expertise in the areas of human anatomy, physiology, and other subspecialties.
  • Train students to analyze pathological processes and provide support to pathologists in the laboratory and during surgical procedures.

Program Description:

The full-time, two-year program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of pathology. During the first three semesters, students will primarily learn through lectures, virtual microscope and slide review, simulated dissections, and other instructional methods. The fourth, fifth, and sixth semesters consist of 40 weeks of clinical rotations in hospitals and labs in the tristate region, where students will apply their knowledge in practical settings.
