Throughout this International Business Management MSc, you'll develop a range of intellectual and practical skills to contribute to the global knowledge economy and to make a positive impact in any environment in which you operate as a business professional.

Throughout this course, you will progressively build a sophisticated knowledge of the contemporary business world, while also gaining the resilience, resourcefulness and horizon scanning skills that will provide you with flexibility for the future. Study Blocks

Study Block One

• International Management
  • You’ll develop your understanding of the skills required by leaders making strategic or operational decisions at the highest level. Using a systems approach in this module you will explore the rapidly changing global business environment.
• Sustainable Practice
  • You’ll learn to evaluate challenges, opportunities and potential actions through the lens of sustainable development and our inter-connected global society.

Study Block Two

• International Business Strategy
  • Considering theoretical and practical approaches, you'll gain an in-depth understanding of business strategy.
  • You will explore the unique dimensions of multinational business, exploring these organisations’ strategic advantage through topics such as aggregation, adaptation and arbitrage strategies. You will also explore topics such as risk diversification as well as the opportunities and challenges for businesses operating at this scale.
• International Consultancy Project
  • You’ll develop your professional skills by delivering a consultancy project in response to a client brief. You will consider and practice collaborative working, and review a range of leadership models, styles and frameworks. You will also develop your understanding of project management and put this into practice by working on a ‘live’ client consultancy brief within a multi-disciplinary team.

Study Block Three

• Final Major Project
  • You’ll deliver a practice-led research project that’s located within a defined context. You will have the opportunity to deliver real world solutions through the application of your own research and engagement with business.

This International Business Management MSc course is based on Penryn Campus. Penryn Campus is home to wide variety of course subject areas allowing students from a variety of disciplines to work collaboratively, create and share ideas.

Dr Greg Borne, course leader for Falmouth’s new MSc in International Business Management, is a sustainable development expert with over 20 years of experience in researching and teaching.

Because the course is situated at the intersection of theory and practice, you can choose your own approach to this subject either as theorist or practitioner, leading to many future career options including:

How to Apply

• A 2:2 honours degree (or above) or Level 6 equivalent qualification is desirable. However, candidates without a degree or formal qualification are still encouraged to apply if they have significant relevant work experience.
• International business managers require a number of skill sets, so we'll consider applications from people with a wide variety of graduate and professional backgrounds who possess a clear interest in business management.
• We'll also welcome your application if you have formal or 'certified' learning (such as training courses not run by universities or colleges) and learning from work experience or self-study. This is called Accreditation of Prior Learning (APEL) and should have been gained within the last five years and be equivalent to the learning outcomes of our minimum entry qualifications.

Language Requirements

If English isn’t your first language, you'll need to demonstrate English language skills that are sufficiently developed for successful completion of your studies. We accept a range of recognised English language qualifications that are equivalent to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic minimum score of 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

Tuition Fees

• £9,200 per year - full-time UK (£250 acceptance fee payable. This is deducted from tuition fees.)
• £17,950 - full-time EU/international (£500-£2,500 acceptance fee payable depending upon your status. This is deducted from tuition fees)
