Master of Environmental Health (MEH)
The Master of Environmental Health (MEH) program is offered by the College of Public Health at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. The program aims to qualify national cadres specialized in the field of environment in various disciplines.
Overview
The MEH program is a postgraduate degree that focuses on environmental health, with a specific track in Industrial Hygiene. The program is designed to respond to the requirements of Vision 2030 for environmental protection and to meet the high demand for professionals in the field of environmental health.
Objectives
The objectives of the MEH program are to:
- Fully orient students with all environmental health fields
- Enable students to identify local and international environmental issues related to health and wellbeing
- Equip students with problem-solving capabilities for various integral components of the environment
- Familiarize students with different environmental laws and ethics at the workplace
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the MEH program, applicants must:
- Satisfy the unified rules for acceptance in postgraduate programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Universities
- Hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline (Medical, Engineering, Science, or any Environmental specialties) from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of the KSA
- Have a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.25 out of 5
- Satisfy the English language requirement (minimum of 5.0 in IELTS score or equivalent of other acceptable English language tests)
- Submit two recommendation letters
- Have a minimum of two years of work experience in the field of health or environmental disciplines (preferred)
- Pass a personal interview or any other examination that the college deems necessary
- Submit evidence of tuition fee payment for at least one semester (twenty-five thousand Saudi Riyal for each semester and a total of one hundred thousand for the whole master program)
Program Structure
The MEH program is a two-year postgraduate degree that consists of 48 credit hours. The program includes:
- 30 study units
- 6 thesis units
- A defense for the thesis

- Environmental Auditing & Management Systems (3 credits)
- Environmental Health and Epidemiology (3 credits)
- Occupational Hygiene Practices (4.5 credits)
- Semester two:
- Statistics for Health Research (4.5 credits)
- Air quality and Control (4.5 credits)
- Fundamentals of Occupational Safety (3 credits)
- Semester three:
- Occupational Hygiene Application (4.5 credits)
- Indoor air quality characterization & control (4.5 credits)
- Elective course (3 credits)
Second Year
- Semester one:
- Occupational Accidents (4.5 credits)
- Principles of Occupational Toxicology (3 credits)

Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the MEH program are twenty-five thousand Saudi Riyal for each semester, with a total of one hundred thousand for the whole master program.
