Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Management
Course Overview
Develop your operational management skills with this advanced course in the delivery of primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Designed for qualified, experienced health workers, you'll be able to further positively impact on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in urban, rural, and remote areas.

- HLTINF007: Implement and monitor infection prevention and control standards, policies, and procedures

Ways to Study
- Online virtual classroom: You will study online, however, your classes will be delivered in real-time via a scheduled timetable. You will interact with your teachers and other students using programs like Zoom.

Entry Requirements
- You must be employed in the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Industry as a Health Care Worker or Practitioner
- Completed a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent course
- Adequate workplace supervision
Resources Required
- Access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect
- A computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Access to workplace policies and processes in order to support your understanding of working in a management role
Placement
- If you are undertaking the clinical stream, and are not employed as a Primary Health Care Worker/Clinician in the Primary Health Care sector, you must enrol in and complete up to 240 hours of Vocational Placement (organised in conjunction with the teacher)
Assessment Methods
- Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course
- You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning
University Pathways
- If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there
- In many cases, completing one of our diplomas may give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers
