Computer Science Accelerated BSc (Hons)

Overview

This 2-year accelerated BSc course in Computer Science is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the digital workforce. The course is co-designed with industry partners, including Microsoft, and covers a range of topics, including front-end and back-end development, software design, computational problem-solving, cloud computing, and cyber security.

What You Will Learn

This course covers a range of topics, including:

• Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Back-end development (Webservers, Linux system management, PHP programming language, Structured Query Language (SQL) and database development theory)
• Software design (traditional software development lifecycle and agile methodologies)
• Computational problem-solving (algorithms, Python programming language)
• Cloud computing (Cloud based solutions, methodology)
• Cyber security and risk (identification and mitigation of risks, cyber security principles)
• Information systems (advanced SQL programming, database technologies)
• Solution architecture (TOGAF, Zachman)
• Global intelligent systems (Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, machine learning, neural networks)
• Human elements of system design (user interface principles)
• Contemporary issues in computer science (remote working, automation, automated transport)

• 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English Language and Maths
• UCAS Points: 104

• IB: 28 points with 14 from Higher Level Subjects

Fees and Finance

• Tuition fees: £9,250 per year (UK/EU students)
